Subject: SpaceX Investment Opportunity

As a research and development analyst at AMDP, I would like to introduce you to a spacecraft manufacturing company called SpaceX.

Here is what my proposal will cover:

  1.  Our investment standards at AMDP: Triple Bottom Line, Corporate Social Responsibility, Social Enterprise, and Carbon Footprint.

  2. SpaceX overview: what it is, its history, its finances, how it fits with our standards, etc.

  3. Other opinions on SpaceX.

  4. My final recommendation.

AMDP Investment Standards

AMDP aims to support companies that promote prosperity, people and the planet, as is our Triple Bottom Line.

Our Triple Bottom Line refers to our goal that companies focus on societal and environmental goals as much as profit.

Corporate Social Responsibility: a self-regulating business model that ensures a company is socially accountable to itself, its stakeholders and the public (Fernando).

Social Enterprise: a revenue-generating business with a mission; a company that exists to serve the common good while also making money (Connects)

Carbon Footprint: the impact that a company's actions have on the environment (Issel).

What is SpaceX?

SpaceX is an American spacecraft manufacturing company headquartered in Hawthorne, California. Established in 2002, SpaceX founder Elon Musk has established a goal of reducing the cost of spaceflight, promoting interplanetary expansion and promoting the survival of the human race via making the race span across the solar system.

What they offer

Currently, SpaceX works closely with NASA to send astronauts to the International Space Station, doing so for much cheaper than other spacecraft companies. Their goal is to offer affordable space travel to the general public, as their mission statement is "to revolutionize space technology, with the ultimate goal of enabling people to live on other planets."

Industry Opinions

This article from SpaceNews is on SpaceX's ability to adapt to the market, particularly its success in the market of reusable rockets: https://spacenews.com/op-ed-spacexs-adaptation-to-market-changes/

This article from The Hill highlights SpaceX's success in the industry and how close they are to reaching their goal of enabling humanity as an interplanetary species: https://thehill.com/opinion/technology/4323493-spacexs-starship-could-be-a-few-tests-away-from-its-ultimate-goal/

My Opinion

SpaceX is revolutionizing the spaceflight industry, and it shows as they are at the top of the game right now. In my opinion, this is an opportunity that we can't miss out on. As the goal of launching humanity into the cosmos is a lofty one, they've been on the fast track towards that goal and if they succeed, we could be known as the company that believed in them and helped them forward that goal. In my eyes, this is a can't-miss investment.
